123359-42-2 Usage
Description
A blue dye used in the assessment of
hepatobiliary dysfunction. The concentration in plasma is
monitored since dye removal from the blood is delayed in
hepatic dysfunction. Experimentally the appearance of sulfobromphthalein in the bile can also be measured.
Chemical Properties
White, crystalline powder; odorless; bit-
ter taste. Hygroscopic; soluble in water; insoluble
in alcohol and acetone.
Uses
Different sources of media describe the Uses of 123359-42-2 differently. You can refer to the following data:
1. Medicine (diagnostic aid).
2. Sulfobromophthalein disodium salt hydrate has been used as a positive control to study the interaction of 11-keto-β-boswellic acid (KBA) and 3-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid (AKBA) with organic anion transporter OATP1B3.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Sulfobromophthalein (BSP) is a high affinity organic ion substrate for organic anion transporting polypeptides (OATPs) and has been used as a substrate for multidrug resistance associated protein 2 (Mrp2). BSP is transported into hepatocytes by OATPs and, after conjugation to glutathione, is excreted into bile by Mrp2. It was found to inhibit the aldo-keto reductase ARK1C20.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 123359-42-2 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,2,3,3,5 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 123359-42:
(8*1)+(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*3)+(4*5)+(3*9)+(2*4)+(1*2)=112
112 % 10 = 2
So 123359-42-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
