Description
Vat Black 16 is a blue light grey black powder with a metallic luster. It is insoluble in water and xylene, slightly soluble in pyridine for blue, brown light red fluorescence. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it turns dark purple. Alkaline reduction leuco results in red light blue, while acid reduction leuco results in red light brown.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Vat Black 16 is used as a dye for cotton, vinylon, and viscose fiber and fabric dyeing and printing. It is also used for dark gray discharge printing.
