The reaction of ketene imines with fluorochloro- and dibromocarbenes takes place through the intermediate formation of keteneiminium dihalogenomethanides. In the case of fluorochlorocarbene carbamoyl fluorides or fluorodichloroacetamides are formed, depending on the method of generation. The reaction of triphenylketeneiminium fluoromethanide with dimethyl acetylenedicarboxylate leads to the product from 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition. In the reaction of dibromocarbene with triarylketene imines the corresponding N-(2,2-diphenylvinyl)-N-(tribromovinyl)anilines are formed.
