Description
Olmesartan-d4, also known as Labelled Olmesartan Acid (O550001), is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It is a deuterated form of Olmesartan, which means it contains deuterium atoms instead of regular hydrogen atoms. This modification is often used in research to study the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the compound without the influence of endogenous substances. Olmesartan-d4 is a promising pharmaceutical candidate for various applications due to its ability to block the action of angiotensin II, a potent vasoconstrictor.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Olmesartan-d4 is used as an anti-hypertensive agent for the treatment of hypertension. It functions by selectively blocking the angiotensin II receptor, which in turn reduces blood pressure and alleviates the symptoms associated with high blood pressure.
Additionally, Olmesartan-d4 can be used in research and development as a labeled compound to study the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and potential drug-drug interactions of Olmesartan in various experimental settings. This helps researchers to better understand the compound's behavior in the body and optimize its therapeutic potential.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 1420880-41-6 includes 10 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 7 digits, 1,4,2,0,8,8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 1420880-41:
(9*1)+(8*4)+(7*2)+(6*0)+(5*8)+(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*4)+(1*1)=136
136 % 10 = 6
So 1420880-41-6 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

This paper describes the synthesis of deuterium-labeled olmesartan and candesartan. The two desired compounds both used [2H4] 2-cyano-4'-methyl-biphenyl as deuterium-labeled reagent, which was synthesized beforehand in two steps. [2H4] olmesartan was synthesized in six steps further with 17% overall yield, and [2H4] candesartan was synthesized in seven steps further with 13% overall yield.
