Preparation process of brinzolamide of formula (I) comprising the protection of the secondary amine of their non sulfonamide substituted precursor; the chlorosulfonation and the subsequent amination with ammonia of the obtained intermediate; and, finally, the deprotection of the obtained sulfonamide by acid hydrolysis. The process allows to obtain brinzolamide at a industrial scale by using milder reaction conditions and with a high yield at reduced costs. Some new intermediates are used in this process.
