An efficient reductive kinetic resolution strategy capable of accessing optically active tertiary hydroperoxides is reported. Readily accessible tertiary hydroperoxides are resolved with commercially available (R)- or (S)-xylyl-PHANEPHOS with selectivity factors as large as 37.
