Description
Bucladesine sodium, also known as ACTOCIN, is a cell-permeable cyclic AMP (cAMP) analog that preferentially activates cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA). It is a 3',5'-cyclic purine nucleotide with cardiac stimulant and peripheral vasodilatory properties, making it useful in treating cardiac insufficiency, particularly after heart surgery. Bucladesine sodium has also been shown to induce apoptosis in vascular smooth muscle cells and acts as a Hh pathway antagonist.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Bucladesine sodium is used as a cardiac stimulant for the treatment of cardiac insufficiency, especially after heart surgery. It is also used as a vasodilator due to its peripheral vasodilatory properties.
Used in Stem Cell Research:
Bucladesine sodium is used as a medium supplement for neural crest stem cells (NCSCs) differentiation, aiding in the development and understanding of stem cell therapies.
Used in Cryopreservation:
It is used as a component of the thawing medium for cryopreserved human iPSC (induced pluripotent stem cell)-derived neurons, which is crucial for the preservation and revival of these cells for further research and potential therapeutic applications.
Used in Neuroscience Research:
Bucladesine sodium is used in serum-free Dulbecco's modified eagle's medium (DMEM) to induce astrocyte differentiation, contributing to the study of astrocyte function and development in the central nervous system.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 16980-89-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,6,9,8 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 16980-89:
(7*1)+(6*6)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*9)=145
145 % 10 = 5
So 16980-89-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
