The invention relates to novel compounds of formula I STR1 wherein X is a direct bond, sulfur or --CHR5 --, R1 is hydrogen, C1 -C25 alkyl, unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted C5 -C8 cycloalkyl; unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted C5 -C8 cycloalkenyl; unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted phenyl; C7 -C9 phenylalkyl or --CH2 --S--R6 ; R2 is hydrogen, C1 -C25 alkyl, C2 -C24 alkenyl, unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted C5 -C8 cycloalkyl; unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted C5 -C8 cycloalkenyl; unsubstituted or C1 -C4 alkyl-substituted phenyl; C7 -C9 -phenylalkyl or --CH2 S--R6 ; R3 is hydrogen or methyl; R4 is C1 -C8 alkyl, O·, OH, NO, --CH2 CN, C1 -C18 alkoxy, C5 -C12 cycloalkoxy, C3 -C6 alkenyl, C3 -C6 alkynyl, C1 -C87 acyl, C7 -C9 phenylalkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted at the phenyl ring by C1 -C4 alkyl; R5 is hydrogen or C1 -C8 alkyl; and R6 is C1 -C20 alkyl, as stabilisers for protecting organic materials against oxidalive, thermal or light-induced degradation.
