The two isomeric amino derivatives 3,5- and 5,8-diphenylamino-1,6-pyrenequinones were obtained by the reaction of 1,6-pyrenequinone with aniline at 120 deg C.Their structures were demonstrated by the synthesis of their chlorine analogs from 5-phenylamino-3,8-dichloropyrene-1,6-quinone and also by comparison of their spectroscopic characteristics with the results from quantum-chemical calculations by the Hueckel method.
