18388-16-4 Usage

General Description

(Cyclohexylmethyl)trichlorosilane is a chemical compound with the formula C7H15Cl3Si. It is a colorless liquid with a pungent odor, commonly used as a reagent for the introduction of cyclohexylmethyl groups onto various substrates. It is also used as a precursor in the synthesis of functionalized siloxanes and silicone polymers. Additionally, it is utilized in the production of coatings, adhesives, and sealants. Due to its reactivity, (cyclohexylmethyl)trichlorosilane should be handled and stored with caution, as it is corrosive and may cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract upon exposure.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 18388-16-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,8,3,8 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 18388-16:
(7*1)+(6*8)+(5*3)+(4*8)+(3*8)+(2*1)+(1*6)=134
134 % 10 = 4
So 18388-16-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Contra-thermodynamic Olefin Isomerization by Chain-Walking Hydrofunctionalization and Formal Retro-hydrofunctionalization

Hanna, Steven,Butcher, Trevor W.,Hartwig, John F.

supporting information, p. 7129 - 7133 (2019/09/12)

We report a contra-thermodynamic isomerization of internal olefins to terminal olefins driven by redox reactions and formation of Si-F bonds. This process involves chain-walking hydrosilylation of internal olefins and subsequent formal retro-hydrosilylation. The process rests upon the high activities of platinum hydrosilylation catalysts for isomerization of metal alkyl intermediates and a new, metal-free process for the conversion of alkylsilanes to alkenes. By this approach, 1,2-disubstituted and trisubstituted olefins are converted to terminal olefins.
