1,10-Phenanthroline (18851-33-7) is a high affinity chelator of divalent metal ions, which makes it a potent inhibitor of JAMM-type isopeptidases (DUBs) by chelation of an active site Zn2+. It is also used in the preparation of cell lysates for the enrichment of ubiquitinated proteins, which are particularly sensitive to DUBs in the JAMM family. 1,10-Phenanthroline is a white fine crystalline powder.
