Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 18976-74-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,8,9,7 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 18976-74:
(7*1)+(6*8)+(5*9)+(4*7)+(3*6)+(2*7)+(1*4)=164
164 % 10 = 4
So 18976-74-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
