Usage

Description

ORTHOSULFAMURON, also known as IR-5878, is a broad-spectrum preand post-emergent rice herbicide developed by Isagro for the control of annual broadleaf and sedge weeds. It is a sulfonylurea herbicide that can be used in combination with other herbicides such as erlukuilincaotong and cyhalofop-butyl. ORTHOSULFAMURON has been marketed under various trade names since 2007 and was sold to Nihon Nohyaku Co., Ltd. in 2013. It is also used for sugarcane ripening.

Uses

Used in Agricultural Industry:
ORTHOSULFAMURON is used as a herbicide for controlling annual broadleaf and sedge weeds in rice fields. It is effective against a wide range of susceptible weeds and sedges, such as A. theophrasti, Alisma plantago-aquatica, A. lanceolatum, C. difformis, C. serotinus, Cyperus ferax, Cyperus iria, E. crus-galli (red biotype), Heteranthera reniformis, Heteranthera rotundifolia, H. limosa, L. dubia, Schoenoplectus mucronatus, Bolboschoenus maritimus, Sagittaria sagittifolia, and Scirpus supinus.
Used in Sugarcane Industry:
ORTHOSULFAMURON is used as a ripening agent for sugarcane, promoting the maturation process and improving sugar yield.
Used in Biological Studies:
