2150-54-1 Usage

Description

CI 23790, also known as a dye, is a deep purple-blue powder that exhibits unique properties when interacting with various chemicals. It is soluble in water, displaying a blue color, and insoluble in other organic solvents. The dye's color changes when exposed to different acids and bases, making it a versatile compound for various applications.

Uses

Used in Textile Industry:
CI 23790 is used as a dye for cellulose fiber dyeing and printing. Its ability to change color when exposed to acids and bases allows for a wide range of color options in the textile industry.
Used in Paper Industry:
CI 23790 is also used for paper coloration. Its unique properties enable it to produce various shades of blue, green, and red, making it a popular choice for coloring paper products.
Standard:
The performance of CI 23790 is evaluated based on several factors, including acid resistance, alkali resistance, light fastness, soaping, water fading, and stain fading. The ISO and AATCC standards provide a grading system to measure the dye's performance in these areas, ensuring consistent quality and reliability in its applications.

Preparation

3,3′-Dimethylbenzidine double nitriding, and 4,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid (2 Moore) coupled.

Reactivity Profile

CI 23790 is an azo compound. Azo, diazo, azido compounds can detonate. This applies in particular to organic azides that have been sensitized by the addition of metal salts or strong acids. Toxic gases are formed by mixing materials of this class with acids, aldehydes, amides, carbamates, cyanides, inorganic fluorides, halogenated organics, isocyanates, ketones, metals, nitrides, peroxides, phenols, epoxides, acyl halides, and strong oxidizing or reducing agents. Flammable gases are formed by mixing materials in this group with alkali metals. Explosive combination can occur with strong oxidizing agents, metal salts, peroxides, and sulfides. Cleavage of the diazo group by reducing agents may lead to benzidine production.

Fire Hazard

Flash point data for CI 23790 are not available; CI 23790 is probably combustible.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 2150-54-1 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,1,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2150-54:
(6*2)+(5*1)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*5)+(1*4)=51
51 % 10 = 1
So 2150-54-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
