Purification Methods
Purify it by dissolving 6g in hot *C6H6 (20mL) and adding 75mL of pet ether slowly. Cool to room temperature then chill on ice, filter off and dry in air to give 2.9g. It also crystallises from EtOH. It is soluble in heptane, *C6H6, toluene and pentane-2,4-dione at 20-40o. It forms a 1:2 complex with CHCl3. Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 21679-31-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,1,6,7 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 21679-31:
(7*2)+(6*1)+(5*6)+(4*7)+(3*9)+(2*3)+(1*1)=112
112 % 10 = 2
So 21679-31-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
