Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 23019-38-7 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 2,3,0,1 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 8 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 23019-38:
(7*2)+(6*3)+(5*0)+(4*1)+(3*9)+(2*3)+(1*8)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 23019-38-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Kinetics of Charge Transfer Interaction of Aliphatic Amines with p-Chloranil in Aqueous Media

Awad, Boshra M.,Sayed, Nadia I. Abdel,Nassar, Ekhlass M.

, p. 467 - 482 (2007/10/03)

The kinetics of charge-transfer interaction between p-chloranil as an acceptor and branched unbranched aliphatic amines (isobutylamine, diethylamine and n-propylamine) as donors have been followed spectrophotometrically at 30 deg in an aqueous non-polar aprotic solvent, dioxane, and a dipolar aprotic solvent, dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide. The reaction follows an overall third order rate equation, through first order with respect to p-chloranil and second order with respect to the amine. The rates were found to increase with increase of the dielectric constant of the medium. The reactivity of solvents and amines are discussed. The structure of the products was confirmed by their elemental analysis, IR, 1HNMR and mass spectroscopy.
