Pyrimidines containing other heterocyclic moieties are known to exhibit varied biological and pharmacological properties1-5. In view of these observations, the present work describes the synthesis of some new substituted pyrimidinthiones starting from α1 B-unsaturated carbonyl compounds and their antimicrobial activities. An attempt is made to study the structure activity relationship.
