, p. 987 - 994 (2012/11/06)
Several series of alkylated phenols were detected for the first time in the extractable bitumens of organic matter-rich sediments from the Noerdlinger Ries (southern Germany). Most abundant and significant constituents comprise those with n-octadecyl, n-eicosanyl, phytanyl, and iso-pentadecyl and anteiso-pentadecyl substituents. The structures of these compounds are suggested from mass spectrometric and retention time data and coinjection with synthetic standards. Diagenetic alteration of phenolic algal lipids is suggested as a possible way to the formation of these compounds in the Noerdlinger Ries sediments. Copyright
Mannich reaction products derived from alkenyl succinic acid anhydride, a polyamine and sulphur linked alkylphenols and their use as lubricants
-
, (2008/06/13)
Disclosed is a mannich reaction product which is obtainable by reacting an alkenyl succinic acid or an alkenyl succinic anhydride, a polyamine, an aldehyde and a sulfurized alkylphenol represented by the general formula (I). wherein R2 indicates an alkyl group having 4 to 25 carbon atoms, m indicates an integer of 1 to 8, x indicates 1 or 2, and z indicates an integer of 1 to 9. Useful as a detergent-dispersant which has excellent stability at high temperatures and has an oxidation stability, a detergent-dispersant containing the same, a process of producing it, and fuel oil and lubricating oil compositions comprising it.
Overbased sulfurized alkaline earth metal phenates and process for preparing same
-
, (2008/06/13)
Overbased sulfurized alkaline earth metal phenates which are oil soluble, excellent in detergency dispersancy and have high base value, and an effective process for production of said overbased sulfurized alkaline earth metal phenates under conditions providing less sludge and less raw material recovery, and further a lubricating oil additives containing said overbased sulfurized alkaline earth metal phenates as a main ingredient and a lubricating oil composition which comprises said lubricating oil additive compounded in a lubricating oil are disclosed. Since the resulting overbased sulfurized alkaline earth metal phenates have high base value and excellent oil-solubility, they can be effectively utilized as lubricating oil additives.
