The invention provides a method for synthesizing 2, 5-dichlorobenzotrifluoride through continuous flow catalytic chlorination, and belongs to the field of synthesis processes. According to the method, o-chlorobenzotrifluoride and chlorine are taken as raw materials, and the 2, 5-dichlorobenzotrifluoride is synthesized in a continuous flow reactor with high selectivity in the presence of a catalyst. In the presence of catalytic amounts of phosphovanadomolybdic acids, such as H6PV3Mo9O40, various kinds of substituted benzenes and heteroaromatic compounds could be converted into the corresponding trifluoromethylated products.
