Description
D-Fructose Dehydrogenase, derived from Gluconobacter sp, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the metabolism of fructose. It is involved in the oxidation of D-fructose to 5-keto-D-fructose, which is an essential step in various biochemical processes. This enzyme has gained significant attention due to its potential applications in different industries.
Uses
Used in Carbohydrate Binding Specificity Assay:
D-Fructose Dehydrogenase is used as a standard in the carbohydrate binding specificity assay. It helps in determining the specificity of carbohydrate-binding agents, which is crucial for understanding their interactions with various carbohydrates and their potential applications in different fields.
Used in SDS-PAGE:
D-Fructose Dehydrogenase is also used as a standard in SDS-PAGE, a widely employed technique for the separation and analysis of proteins based on their molecular weight. The enzyme serves as a reference point for comparing the migration of other proteins in the gel, allowing for accurate estimation of their molecular weights and assessment of their structural properties.
Biochem/physiol Actions
D-fructose dehydrogenase is a heterotrimeric membrane-bound enzyme commonly seen in various Gluconobacter sp. especially in Gluconobacter japonicus (Gluconobacter industrius). It has a molecular mass of ca. 140 kDa, consisting of subunits I (67kDa), II (51 kDa), and III (20 kDa) and catalyzes the oxidation of D-fructose to produce 5-keto-D-fructose. The enzyme is a flavoprotein-cytochrome c complex with subunits I and II covalently bound to flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) and heme C as prosthetic groups, respectively.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 37250-85-4 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 3,7,2,5 and 0 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 37250-85:
(7*3)+(6*7)+(5*2)+(4*5)+(3*0)+(2*8)+(1*5)=114
114 % 10 = 4
So 37250-85-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
