Usage

Description

Disperse Red 5 is a purplish red powder that exhibits a colorful blu-ray red color. It is soluble in ethanol and soluble fiber elements, as well as in acetone, and slightly soluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride. The dye has a strong affinity for sulfuric acid, turning dark blue in light red upon dilution, and turns red in 10% sulfuric acid. In 10% sodium hydroxide solution, it turns brown. The dye is unaffected by the presence of copper and iron ions and has an appropriate pH value for dyeing of 4 to 10.

Uses

Used in Textile Industry:
Disperse Red 5 is used as a dye for textiles, particularly for the production of navy and black colors. It is suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure dyeing and carrier dyeing, with a hot melt temperature of 190 to 200°C. The dye provides good ironing, light, perspiration, and washing fastness, with ISO ratings ranging from 3-5.
Used in Direct Printing:
Disperse Red 5 is used in direct printing on fabrics, allowing for the creation of various designs and patterns. It is also suitable for discharge printing, which involves removing the dye from specific areas of the fabric to create a design.
Used in Polyester and Nylon Fabrics:
Although Disperse Red 5 is not suitable for dyeing nylon, it can be used for dyeing polyester fabrics. This makes it a versatile dye for a range of synthetic materials in the textile industry.
