Description
7-Benzyl-10-(2-Methylbenzyl)-2,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydroimidazo[1,2-a]pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-5(3H)-one, also known as NSC 350625 or B285480, is a small molecule compound that has been identified for its potential use in cancer therapy. It functions by inducing the TRAIL gene in both normal and tumor cells, which can lead to the activation of apoptosis and the subsequent death of cancer cells.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
7-Benzyl-10-(2-Methylbenzyl)-2,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydroimidazo[1,2-a]pyrido[4,3-d]pyrimidin-5(3H)-one is used as an anticancer agent for the treatment of various types of cancer. 7-benzyl-10-(2-Methylbenzyl)-2,6,7,8,9,10-hexahydroiMidazo[1,2-a]pyrido[4,3-d]pyriMidin-5(3H)-one works by inducing the TRAIL gene in both normal and tumor cells, which can lead to the activation of apoptosis and the subsequent death of cancer cells. This makes it a promising candidate for the development of new cancer therapies.
Additionally, the compound has been the subject of a resolution in Chemical and Engineering News, highlighting its correct characterization as B285480, which was previously assigned the structure of NSC 350625. This clarification is important for the accurate identification and use of the compound in future research and development efforts within the pharmaceutical industry.
Biological Activity
tic10 (trail-inducing compound 10) is a potent and stable small molecule that is orally active. it induces trail transcriptionally independent of p53 and crosses the blood-brain barrier. [1]tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (trail) is an apoptosis inducer in a variety of human cancer cell lines. it also acts as a tumor suppressor during immune surveillance but the function is lost in cancer progression. [1]tic10 caused a prominent and long-lasting production of trail on cell surface of tumor cell.tic10 also led to trail-mediated apoptosis in hct116 p53-/- cells. in addition, tic10 inactivated akt and erk cooperatively lead to the nuclear translocation of foxo3a and ensuing trail up-regulation. [1]in mouse caner xenograft, tic10 showed trail-dependent antitumor effect. it caused tumor-specific cell death by rail-mediated direct and bystander effects. tic10 is also an effective antitumor agent for orthotopic human glioblastoma multiforme tumors. Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 41276-02-2 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 4,1,2,7 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 41276-02:
(7*4)+(6*1)+(5*2)+(4*7)+(3*6)+(2*0)+(1*2)=92
92 % 10 = 2
So 41276-02-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
