Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 42986-22-1 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 4,2,9,8 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 42986-22:
(7*4)+(6*2)+(5*9)+(4*8)+(3*6)+(2*2)+(1*2)=141
141 % 10 = 1
So 42986-22-1 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING ?-SULPHATOETHYLSULPHONYLANILINE-2-SULPHONIC ACID
-
Page/Page column 9, (2008/06/13)
The invention relates to a method for processing ?-sulphatoethylsulphonylaniline-2-sulphonic acid which is present as a solution in an aqueous sulphuric acid. In a first step, the ?-sulphatoethylsulphonylaniline-2-sulphonic acid is precipitated, separated and dissolved in water by adding (earth)alkali and/or ammonium salts, or the sulphuric acid is precipitated by adding calcium salts, the calcium sulphate thus arising is optionally separated, and in a second step, the solution thus arising is adjusted to a pH value of between 1 and 5 by adding (earth)alkali or ammonium hydroxide, carbonate, hydrogen carbonate and/or acetate, the existing calcium sulphate is separated, and the ?-sulphatoethylsulphonylaniline-2-sulphonic acid is isolated from the solution and the thus produced ?-sulphatoethylsulphonylaniline-2-sulphonic acid.
