469-59-0 Usage
Description
Jervine is an alkaloid first obtained from Veratrum grandiflorum and also present in V. album. It is a white crystalline solid with various chemical properties and derivatives. Jervine has been found to have vasodilatory effects, causing a drop in blood pressure in large doses.
Uses
1. Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
Jervine is used as a starting material for C-nor-D-homosteroids due to its unique chemical structure and properties.
2. Used in Research and Development:
Jervine is used as a research compound for studying its teratogenic properties and its ability to induce holoprosencephaly and block endogenous Sonic hedgehog signaling.
3. Used in Antibacterial Applications:
Jervine is used as an antibacterial agent due to its antimicrobial properties.
Purification Methods
4 Crystallise Jervine from MeOH/H2O or Me2O. The hydrochloride has m 300-302o (from MeOH/Et2O), and the picrate has m 26

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 469-59-0 includes 6 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 3 digits, 4,6 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 469-59:
(5*4)+(4*6)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*9)=90
90 % 10 = 0
So 469-59-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
