Description

ISOBARBITURIC ACID, also known as 2,4,5-trihydroxypyrimidine, is a 5-hydroxy derivative of the nucleobase Uracil and an isomer of Barbituric Acid. It is a light yellow to beige granular powder that has the unique ability to form stable base pairs with all four bases in a DNA duplex.

Uses

Used in Tissue Engineering:
ISOBARBITURIC ACID is used as an oxidative DNA damage biomarker in tissue engineered skin for identifying and assessing the extent of oxidative damage in engineered tissues.
Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
ISOBARBITURIC ACID is used as an antagonist of uracil for the growth of Lactobacillus casei, playing a role in the development of antibiotics or other treatments targeting this specific bacterium.
Used in DNA Research:
