Description

Gypsogenic acid, a pentacyclic triterpenoid belonging to the Caryophyllaceae family, is a naturally occurring compound characterized by the presence of carboxy groups at positions 23 and 28 and a hydroxy group at position 3 (the 3beta stereoisomer). It is known for its potential applications in various fields due to its unique chemical structure and properties.

Uses

Used in Dental Applications:
Gypsogenic acid is used as an antiplaque and anticaries agent in the dental industry. Its effectiveness in reducing plaque and preventing dental caries makes it a promising candidate for the development of oral care products and treatments.
Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
Gypsogenic acid, due to its triterpenoid saponin nature, may also find applications in the pharmaceutical industry. Its potential use in the development of new drugs or as a supplement to existing treatments could be explored, given its unique chemical structure and properties.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 5143-05-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 5,1,4 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 5143-05:
(6*5)+(5*1)+(4*4)+(3*3)+(2*0)+(1*5)=65
65 % 10 = 5
So 5143-05-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Three new triterpenoid saponins from Dianthus superbus

Luo, Jian-Guang,Chen, Xia,Kong, Ling-Yi

experimental part, p. 518 - 521 (2011/06/21)

Three new triterpenoid saponins (1-3) were isolated from the dried aerial parts of Dianthus superbus L. (Caryophyllaceae). Their structures were established as 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl gypsogenic acid 28-O-[β-D-6-O- ((3S)-3-hydroxyl-3-methylglutaryl)glucopyranosyl(1→6)]-β-D- glucopyranoside (1), 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl gypsogenic acid 28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→3)][β-D-6-O-((3S)-hydroxyl-3- methylglutaryl)glucopyranosyl(1→6)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), 3-O-α-L-arabinopyranosyl-3β,16α-dihydroxyolean-12-en-23, 28-dioic acid 28-O-[β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→6)]-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), on the basis of various spectroscopic analyses and chemical degradations.

TRITERPENE GLYCOSIDES OF Climacoptera transoxana. IV. STRUCTURES OF COPTEROSIDES G AND H

Annaev, Ch.,Abubakirov, N. K.

, p. 56 - 60 (2007/10/02)

From the epigeal part of the plant Climacoptera transoxana (Iljin) Botsch. have been isolated new triterpene glycosides - copterosides G and H, which are bisdesmosidic glycosides. On the basis of chemical transformations and spectral characteristics, copteroside G has been assigned the structure of gypsogenic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside 3-O-β-D-glucuronopyranoside, while copteroside H is gypsogenic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranoside 3-O-2)-β-glucuronopyranoside>.
