Strong overcrowding in dimethyl 2-(dimethyl-amino)terephthalate
Centore, Roberto,Fusco, Sandra,Peluso, Andrea,Carotenuto, Maurizio,Tuzi, Angela
, p. o420-o422 (2008)
The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C12H15NO4, has several features related to steric hindrance due to the ester and dimethyl-amine groups being located ortho with respect to one another. In particular, the carbonyl group of the ester is not coplanar with the ring, the amine N atom is in a pyramidal arrangement [the N atom is 0.2161 (12) A from the three C atoms to which it is bonded] and the C atom of the adjacent ester group lies 0.3784 (14) A out of the plane of the aromatic ring. The deformations found in the X-ray structure have been confirmed by ab initio quantum mechanical calculations.

Synthesis of secondary and tertiary amine-containing MOFs: C-N bond cleavage during MOF synthesis
Hahm, Hyungwoo,Ha, Hyeonbin,Kim, Seongmin,Jung, Byunghyuck,Park, Myung Hwan,Kim, Youngjo,Heo, Jungseok,Kim, Min
, p. 5644 - 5650 (2015/08/03)
Secondary and tertiary amine-containing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been synthesized, and unprecedented C-N bond cleavage phenomena were observed during MOF formation. Utilizing the secondary amine-containing ligand (BDC-NHMe), three new MOFs hav
