1-Bromo-3-(bromomethyl)-5-methoxybenzene, also known as 5-Bromo-3-(bromomethyl)-1-methoxybenzene, is a chemical compound that consists of a benzene ring with a bromine atom at position 1 and a methoxy group at position 5. In addition, there is a bromomethyl group attached to position 3 of the benzene ring. 1-BroMo-3-(broMoMethyl)-5-Methoxybenzene is commonly used in organic synthesis and pharmaceutical research as a building block for various biologically active molecules. It is a colorless liquid that is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. 1-Bromo-3-(bromomethyl)-5-methoxybenzene is primarily used as a reagent in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals.
