Description
Ferrous gluconate (iron (II) gluconate dihydrate, C12H22Fe14-2H2O) is a fine yellowish-gray or pale greenish-yellow powder or granules with a slight odor resembling that of burned sugar. It is prepared by reacting hot solutions of barium or calcium gluconate with ferrous sulfate or by heating freshly prepared ferrous carbonate with gluconic acid in aqueous solution. One gram of ferrous gluconate dissolves in about 10 mL of water with slight heating and is practically insoluble in alcohol. A 1 in 20 solution is acid to litmus.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6047-12-7 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,0,4 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 2 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6047-12:
(6*6)+(5*0)+(4*4)+(3*7)+(2*1)+(1*2)=77
77 % 10 = 7
So 6047-12-7 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
