General Description
Aerosil R 972 is a hydrophobic fumed silica, which is widely used as a thickening and anti-caking agent in a variety of industries including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and food. It consists of very fine, amorphous silica particles that are treated with a dimethylsiloxane polymer. This treatment makes the silica hydrophobic, meaning it repels water and has enhanced compatibility with non-polar substances. As a result, Aerosil R 972 can improve the flow properties, reduce caking, and enhance the stability of powdered or granulated materials.
