The "2-methyl-3-phenyl" portion of the name indicates the specific substitution pattern on the quinoline ring, while "4-carboxylate" refers to the presence of a carboxyl group on the fourth carbon atom of the quinoline ring. 2-methyl-3-phenylquinoline-4-carboxylate has potential applications in the pharmaceutical industry, where it may be used as a building block for the synthesis of biologically active molecules. Additionally, it may have industrial applications in the production of dyes or other organic compounds. Its specific properties and uses will depend on the context and the method of synthesis.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6319-87-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,3,1 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 7 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6319-87:
(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*1)+(3*9)+(2*8)+(1*7)=105
105 % 10 = 5
So 6319-87-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Microwave irradiation has been used for a rapid and efficient synthesis of quinoline-4-carboxylic acids 5a-g and 1,2,3,4-tetrahydroacridine-9-carboxylic acid (6) from the reaction of isatins 1-3 with acyclic and cyclic ketones in basic medium. 2-Hydroxyquinoline-4-carboxylic acid (11) was also obtained by irradiating a mixture of isatin 1 and malonic acid in AcOH. The esters of 5f and 11 and their respective hydrazides 8 and 13 were also prepared under MWI. Copyright Taylor & Francis, Inc.
