6378-89-8 Usage
Description
Acid blue 98 (C.I. 50335) is a synthetic dye characterized by its red light navy blue color. It is soluble in water and ethanol, producing a blue hue. When exposed to strong sulfuric acid, it turns green and turns red purple upon dilution. In a water solution, the addition of sodium hydroxide results in a purplish-red color, accompanied by precipitation.
Uses
Used in Textile Industry:
Acid blue 98 (C.I. 50335) is used as a dye for coloring fabrics. It is known for its light fastness, soaping fastness, and perspiration fastness, making it suitable for various textile applications.
Used in Leather Industry:
Acid blue 98 (C.I. 50335) is used as a dye for coloring leather products. It demonstrates fastness to oxygen bleaching and seawater, making it a reliable choice for leather goods that may be exposed to these elements.
Standard:
The fastness properties of Acid blue 98 (C.I. 50335) are measured using ISO and AATCC standards. The light fastness is rated 5 on the ISO scale and 5 on the AATCC scale. The soaping fastness is rated 2 on both scales, while the perspiration fastness is rated 1 on the ISO scale and 1-2 on the AATCC scale. The oxygen bleaching fastness is rated 4 on the ISO scale and 3-4 on the AATCC scale. The fastness to seawater is rated 4-5 on the ISO scale and 2 on the AATCC scale.
Preparation

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 6378-89-8 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 6,3,7 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 6378-89:
(6*6)+(5*3)+(4*7)+(3*8)+(2*8)+(1*9)=128
128 % 10 = 8
So 6378-89-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
