Usage

General Description

2-Methyl-4-(trifluoromethyl)aniline is a chemical compound with the formula C8H8F3N. It is commonly used as a building block in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and dyes. The trifluoromethyl group on the aromatic ring makes it a valuable intermediate in the production of various fine chemicals. It is a clear to pale yellow liquid with a distinct odor and must be handled with care due to its toxic and irritant properties. The compound is also known by other names such as N-Trifluoromethylaniline and 4-(Trifluoromethyl)-2-methylaniline.
