Description
1-DEOXY-1-(METHYLAMINO)-D-GALACTITOL is a chemical compound derived from D-galactose, a monosaccharide sugar. It is characterized by the presence of a methylamino group attached to the first carbon, which distinguishes it from other related compounds. This unique structure endows it with specific properties that make it suitable for various applications in different industries.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
1-DEOXY-1-(METHYLAMINO)-D-GALACTITOL serves as a starting material for the preparation of sulfoximine-nicotine derivatives. These derivatives act as kinase inhibitors and are valuable in the treatment of proliferative diseases, such as cancer, by targeting and inhibiting the activity of specific enzymes involved in cell growth and division.
Additionally, 1-DEOXY-1-(METHYLAMINO)-D-GALACTITOL is utilized in the synthesis of novel tricyclic benzodiazepine carboxamides. These compounds function as tocolytic oxytocin receptor antagonists, playing a crucial role in managing preterm labor by blocking the effects of oxytocin, a hormone responsible for uterine contractions.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7115-46-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,1,1 and 5 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7115-46:
(6*7)+(5*1)+(4*1)+(3*5)+(2*4)+(1*6)=80
80 % 10 = 0
So 7115-46-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for the preparation of N-alkypolyhydroxyalkylamines from monoalkylamine and reducing sugar
-
Page column 4-5, (2008/06/13)
Aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous-alcoholic solutions of a monoalkylamine and a reducing sugar are simultaneously injected into a mixing unit and the two solutions are mixed under turbulence in the mixing unit for 6 seconds to 5 minutes at a temperature of 25 to 60° C. and a pressure of 50 to 90 bar. The mixture is then added to a hydrogenation reactor and hydrogenated with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst. An alkylpolyhydroxyalkylamine is obtained in high yield and with high purity.
