Description
Fenticonazole nitrate is an antifungal imidazole derivative that is more effective than other imidazole antifungals such as miconazole, clotrimazole, and econazole. It exhibits potent, broad-spectrum fungicidal activity and is also active against some Gram-positive bacteria. Fenticonazole is a racemate comprising equimolar amounts of (R)and (S)-fenticonazole nitrate, and it is used for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis. It is an off-white solid and is available under the brand name Lomexin.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Fenticonazole nitrate is used as a broad-spectrum antimycotic for the treatment of various fungal infections. It is particularly effective against clinical isolates of Candida species, including C. albicans, C. parapsilosis, C. tropicalis, C. krusei, and C. guilliermondii, with MIC values ranging from 0.12 to 32 μg/ml.
Fenticonazole nitrate is also used as an antibacterial agent for the treatment of bacterial infections, including bacterial vaginosis caused by B. fragilis (MICs = ≤0.03-16 μg/ml) and skin infections caused by bacteria such as S. aureus and S. epidermidis, with MIC values ranging from 0.03 μg/ml or less to greater than 16 μg/ml.
Used in Veterinary Medicine:
Fenticonazole nitrate is used as an antifungal agent in a guinea pig model of experimental M. canis dermatomycosis, with an ED50 of 0.5% when applied topically.
Used in Gynecological Applications:
Fenticonazole nitrate is used as a treatment for vaginal candidiasis, providing effective relief from symptoms and promoting the recovery of healthy vaginal flora.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 73151-29-8 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,3,1,5 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 2 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 73151-29:
(7*7)+(6*3)+(5*1)+(4*5)+(3*1)+(2*2)+(1*9)=108
108 % 10 = 8
So 73151-29-8 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
