General Description

3-Hexene-2,5-diol is a compound with the chemical formula C6H12O2 and is also known as 2,5-Hexanediol. It is a colorless, viscous liquid with a slightly sweet odor. This chemical is commonly used as a raw material in the production of various industrial and consumer products, including as a solvent in inks, dyes, and coatings, as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, and as a coupling agent in the manufacturing of polyurethane coatings and adhesives. 3-Hexene-2,5-diol is also used as a fragrance ingredient in perfumes and personal care products due to its pleasant odor. Additionally, it has antimicrobial properties and is used in some formulations for its preservative effects.
