Description

Sodium perborate, anhydrous NaBO3, is a white, amorphous powder with an unknown constitution that contains active oxygen. It evolves oxygen gas when dissolved in water and is hygroscopic. Sodium perborate is available in two forms: tetrahydrate and monohydrate, with the tetrahydrate being produced by treating a borax solution with hydrogen peroxide and sodium hydroxide.
