Usage

General Description

BOC-TYR(ET)-OH is a chemical compound that consists of a tyrosine molecule with an ethyl (ET) functional group attached to the side chain. The BOC group at the N-terminus of the molecule serves as a protective group for the amino group of tyrosine, preventing it from interfering with reactions in which the tyrosine side chain is being modified. BOC-TYR(ET)-OH is commonly used in peptide synthesis and can be converted to its active form by removal of the BOC group under mild acidic conditions, allowing for the subsequent coupling and modification of the tyrosine residue in peptides and proteins.
