76877-33-3 Usage
Description
7-DIETHYLAMINO-3-(4-MALEIMIDOPHENYL)-4-METHYLCOUMARIN, also known as CPM, is a thiol-reactive fluorescent probe derived from coumarin. It is essentially nonfluorescent until it reacts with thiols, which allows for the quantification of thiols without a separation step. CPM displays excitation/emission maxima of 387/468 nm, respectively, and its fluorescence intensity increases when bound to cysteine residues.
Uses
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
7-DIETHYLAMINO-3-(4-MALEIMIDOPHENYL)-4-METHYLCOUMARIN is used as a fluorescent probe for monitoring the release of thiols, quantifying thiols in microplate reactions, and distinguishing proliferating cancer cells by nucleolar protein staining. The application reason is its ability to selectively form Michael adducts in the presence of hyperreactive sulfhydryls, which enables the detection and quantification of thiols without the need for separation steps.
Used in Biomedical Research:
In the Biomedical Research industry, 7-DIETHYLAMINO-3-(4-MALEIMIDOPHENYL)-4-METHYLCOUMARIN is used as a fluorescent probe for studying the role of thiols in various biological processes and their involvement in cancer cell proliferation. The application reason is its high specificity and sensitivity in detecting thiols, making it a valuable tool for research in cell biology and cancer biology.
Used in Drug Development:
7-DIETHYLAMINO-3-(4-MALEIMIDOPHENYL)-4-METHYLCOUMARIN is used as a tool in drug development for identifying and characterizing compounds that interact with thiols. The application reason is its thiol-reactive property, which allows for the detection of potential drug candidates that may target thiol-containing proteins or enzymes.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 76877-33-3 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 7,6,8,7 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 76877-33:
(7*7)+(6*6)+(5*8)+(4*7)+(3*7)+(2*3)+(1*3)=183
183 % 10 = 3
So 76877-33-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
