Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 7789-54-0 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 7,7,8 and 9 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 5 and 4 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 7789-54:
(6*7)+(5*7)+(4*8)+(3*9)+(2*5)+(1*4)=150
150 % 10 = 0
So 7789-54-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

TELLURIUM BROMIDE GLASSES: NEW I. R. TRANSMITTING MATERIALS.
Zhang,Fonteneau,Lucas
, p. 59 - 64 (1988)
A new class of glasses has been discovered in the binary system Te-Br. The limits of the vitreous domain are Te//2Br and TeBr. The composition Te//3Br//2 is the most stable toward crystallization, and the addition of S or Se strongly decreases the devitrification rate. The glass temperatures are in the range 70-80 degree C and, in the case of Se-doped glasses, there is no crystallization peak. The optical transmission range lies from 1. 9 to 20 mu m for Te//3Br//2 glass and makes it a potential candidate for low-loss fiber at 10. 6 mu m. A loss as low as 10** minus **2 dB/km is estimated at this wavelength from the multiphonon contribution.
