Description
C.I. Direct Brown 46 is a dark brown colored dye that exhibits an olive green shade in light and a navy shade when dissolved in strong sulfuric acid. It is soluble in water for a light olive shade and in ethanol. When the dye solution is mixed with strong hydrochloric acid, it forms a gray light purple precipitate, and when mixed with a thick sodium hydroxide solution, it forms an orange brown precipitate.
