Conditions were found to transform primary 2,3-epoxy amines into 1,2-aziridinyl 3-ols which involve an intramolecular opening of the epoxide ring mediated by trimethylaluminum.

Specific reduction of ketoaziridine is obtained by NaBH4 in protic solvent.The ketoaziridine mus be previously complexed by ZnBr2.Crystl structural determination shows that the complex is formed by two molecules of ketoaziridine and that no complexation between the nitrogen and the ketogroup is possible.
