Cryptocarya massoy, ext. is a natural extract derived from the bark of the evergreen tree Cryptocarya massoy (Oken) Kosterm., which is mainly found in Indonesia. It is obtained through steam distillation and has a clear yellow to brownish liquid appearance with a sweet coconut-like flavor and aroma. The extract exhibits a creamy, sweet lactonic, and pi?a colada-like pineapple taste with woody notes on impact, along with a lingering fatty coconut and woody nuance. Its chemical properties include a specific gravity range of d2020 0.9656–1.0152, a refractive index range of n20D 1.4748–1.4940, and an optical rotation range of α20D ?90° to ?64°.
