Usage

General Description

Methyl 3-bromo-2-methyl-5-nitrobenzoate is an organic compound with the molecular formula C9H8BrNO4. It is a derivative of benzoic acid and is commonly used in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Methyl 3-bromo-2-methyl-5-nitrobenzoate is characterized by its pale yellow color and is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Methyl 3-bromo-2-methyl-5-nitrobenzoate is known to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2, which plays a key role in the inflammation process. It is also used in the production of dyes and pigments.
