Description

4-Isopropoxy-N-(2-methylquinolin-8-yl)benzamide, also known as CDN1163, is an allosteric activator of the sarco/endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA). It has a molecular formula of C22H22N2O3 and a molecular weight of 366.42 g/mol. CDN1163 has been shown to lower fasting glucose levels, improve glucose tolerance, and ameliorate hepatitis steatosis in ob/ob mice. It also has potential therapeutic effects in various diseases, including type-2 diabetes, metabolic dysfunction, Parkinson's disease, age-related muscle atrophy, and influenza A infection.

Uses

Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
4-Isopropoxy-N-(2-methylquinolin-8-yl)benzamide is used as a therapeutic agent for treating type-2 diabetes and metabolic dysfunction. It functions as an allosteric activator that increases Ca2+-ATPase activity and Ca2+ uptake by ER microsomes, which may help improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism.
Used in Neurodegenerative Disease Research:
In the field of neurodegenerative disease research, 4-isopropoxy-N-(2-methylquinolin-8-yl)benzamide is used as a potential therapeutic agent for Parkinson's disease. It has been shown to rescue neurons from ER-stress-induced cell death in vitro and displayed significant efficacy in a rat 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) model of Parkinson's disease.
Used in Aging Research:
4-Isopropoxy-N-(2-methylquinolin-8-yl)benzamide is used as an anti-aging agent in aging research. It has been shown to reduce age-related muscle atrophy and weakness in C57BL/6J mice, which may help improve muscle function and overall health in aging populations.
Used in Infectious Disease Research:
In the field of infectious disease research, 4-isopropoxy-N-(2-methylquinolin-8-yl)benzamide is used as a potential therapeutic agent for influenza A infection. It has been shown to decrease inflammatory cytokines and chemokines and attenuate mitochondrial dysfunction in Influenza A infected H1395 cells, which may help reduce the severity of the infection and improve patient outcomes.

Biochem/physiol Actions

CDN1163 is an allosteric activator of sarco/ endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) that potently lowered fasting blood glucose, improved glucose tolerance and ameliorated hepatosteatosis in ob/ob mice. Additionally CDN1163 induces significant reduction in adipose tissue weight with no change in lean mass in ob/ob mice. CDN1163 has no effect on glucose levels or body weight in lean control mice.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 892711-75-0 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 8,9,2,7,1 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 892711-75:
(8*8)+(7*9)+(6*2)+(5*7)+(4*1)+(3*1)+(2*7)+(1*5)=200
200 % 10 = 0
So 892711-75-0 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
