9002-05-5 Usage

Description

Factor Xa is a native coagulation factor from human plasma, prepared from homogeneous Factor X by activation with Russel's viper venom. It is an enzyme that hydrolyzes peptide and ester bonds at the carboxyl group of arginine and specifically catalyzes the activation of prothrombin to thrombin. Prothrombin activation is accelerated by Factor Va, phospholipids, and Ca2+. Factor Xa is inhibited by AEBSF, DFP, PMSF, and soybean trypsin inhibitor.

Uses

Used in Biochemistry Research:
Factor Xa is used as a research tool in biochemistry for studying the coagulation cascade and the activation of prothrombin to thrombin. It helps researchers understand the mechanisms of blood clotting and develop potential therapeutic agents for coagulation disorders.
Used in Fusion Protein Production:
Factor Xa is used as a cleavage agent in the production of fusion proteins. Fusion proteins are commonly expressed with a factor Xa cleavable Ile-Glu (or Asp)-Gly-Arg-↓-X sequence. By incubating fusion proteins with Factor Xa, the desired protein of interest can be released from the fusion partner, allowing for further analysis or purification.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Factor Xa is used in the development of anticoagulant drugs targeting the coagulation cascade. Inhibitors of Factor Xa can help prevent blood clot formation and are used in the treatment and prevention of thrombotic disorders.
Used in Diagnostic Assays:
Factor Xa is used in diagnostic assays to measure the activity of other coagulation factors or to assess the effectiveness of anticoagulant drugs. These assays can help in the diagnosis and monitoring of coagulation disorders and the response to treatment.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Factor Xa catalyzes the hydrolysis of the Arg-Thr and then Arg-Ile bonds in prothrombin to yield active thrombin. The fairly strict recognition sequence is Ile-Glu (or Asp)-Gly-Arg-↓-X.It may sometimes cleave at other basic residues, depending on the conformation of the target protein. Factor Xa will not cleave if a proline residue follows the arginine of the recognition sequence.pH Optimum: 7.6-8.0Temperature Optimum: 37 °C

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 9002-05-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 0 and 5 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9002-05:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*0)+(1*5)=65
65 % 10 = 5
So 9002-05-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
