9002-83-9 Usage
Description
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is a polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE) that is used as a lubricant in various applications. It is similar to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) but has a lower softening point and can be processed in the melt. The presence of chlorine atoms in the polymer results in greater interchain attraction, leading to better mechanical strength compared to PTFE. However, it has a slightly lower resistance to heat and chemicals due to the presence of chlorine atoms.
Uses
Used in Microinjection Procedure:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a lubricant to facilitate piercing of vitelline membranes with a glass capillary to make small holes on spider embryos.
Used in Live Imaging of Embryo Sample:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a lubricant for live imaging of embryo samples using the Zeiss LSM710 confocal system.
Used in Valves, Seals, and Bearings:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a lubricant in valves, seals, and bearings where high wear is a problem.
Used in Chemical Applications:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a protective barrier against chemicals. It is used as a coating and prefabricated liner for chemical applications.
Used in Industrial Applications:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used in the manufacture of gaskets, linings, and valve seats that must withstand hot and corrosive conditions. It is also used as a dielectric material, as a vapor and liquid barrier, and for microporous filters.
Used in Lubricating Pumps in Hyperbaric Chambers:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a lubricant for pumps in hyperbaric chambers.
Used in Halocarbon Oil 27:
FLUOROLUBE GREASE, GR-362 is used as a lubricant in Halocarbon Oil 27, which is a polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene (CTFE).
Production Methods
PCTFE is a polymer of chlorotrifluoroethylene. It is prepared
by free-radical polymerization in an aqueous emulsion using
organic or water-soluble initiators or ionizing radiation.
Examples of applications of PCTFE are plastic molded
parts in chemical process equipment and electric parts.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 9002-83-9 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 8 and 3 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9002-83:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*8)+(1*3)=79
79 % 10 = 9
So 9002-83-9 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
