9007-41-4 Usage
Description
C-Reactive Protein, Human is a major acute-phase plasma protein that is dramatically elevated in patients with acute-phase conditions. It is composed of five identical noncovalently linked subunits and exhibits Ca2+-dependent binding to a variety of substrates. Important in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, it is suitable for immunological studies. In purified states and in plasma, the monomeric form (M.W. ~21 kDa) aggregates as a cyclic pentamer.
Uses
Used in Immunological Applications:
C-Reactive Protein, Human is used as an immunological agent for the preparation of antisera, which helps in the study and diagnosis of various diseases and conditions.
Used in Diagnostic Applications:
C-Reactive Protein, Human is used in the Human C-Reactive Protein ELISA Kit for measuring C-reactive protein (CRP) levels in serum. This measurement is crucial for monitoring inflammation, infection, and other acute-phase conditions, as well as diagnosing rheumatoid arthritis and other autoimmune diseases.
Used in Research Applications:
C-Reactive Protein, Human is used as a research tool for studying the mechanisms of acute-phase responses, inflammation, and immune system regulation. It aids in understanding the role of CRP in various pathological processes and contributes to the development of new therapeutic strategies and diagnostic tools.
Biochem/physiol Actions
C-reactive protein (CRP) plays a key role in the complement pathway, apoptosis, phagocytosis, nitric oxide (NO) release, and the production of interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α. It participates in the uptake of low-density lipoprotein in macrophages. CRP levels are elevated in people suffering from appendicitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, and meningitis. It plays a vital role in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease. Hence it is used as a marker of infection and cardiovascular events.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 9007-41-4 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 9,0,0 and 7 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 4 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 9007-41:
(6*9)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*7)+(2*4)+(1*1)=84
84 % 10 = 4
So 9007-41-4 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
