PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION OF 6-(4-NITRO-PHENOXY)-2H-PYRIDAZIN-3-ONE AND 6-(4-AMINO-PHENOXY)-2H-PYRIDAZIN-3-ONE DERIVATIVES AS INTERMEDIATES OF THYROID HORMONE ANALOGUES

The disclosure describes a method of preparing pyridazinone derivatives comprising contacting a compound of formula (I) or a salt thereof: (I) with a compound of formula (II) or a salt thereof: (II) to form a compound of formula (III) or a salt thereof: (III).
