94948-61-5 Usage

Description

HUMAN TNF-ALPHA, also known as Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha, is a cytokine that plays a crucial role in systemic inflammation and is involved in a variety of cellular processes, including cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. It is produced mainly by immune cells such as macrophages and is involved in the regulation of immune responses and inflammation.

Uses

Used in Research Applications:
HUMAN TNF-ALPHA is used as a research tool for studying the role of TNF-alpha in various biological processes, including inflammation, immune responses, and cell death. It is commonly used in cell culture experiments, gene expression studies, and animal models to investigate the mechanisms of TNF-alpha action and its potential as a therapeutic target.
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
HUMAN TNF-ALPHA is used in the development of drugs targeting TNF-alpha for the treatment of various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and psoriasis. Inhibiting TNF-alpha activity has been shown to reduce inflammation and alleviate symptoms in these conditions.
Used in Diagnostic Procedures:
HUMAN TNF-ALPHA can be used as a biomarker for the diagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Measuring TNF-alpha levels in blood or tissue samples can help assess disease activity and response to treatment.
Used in Rat Tumor Necrosis Factor α ELISA Kit:
HUMAN TNF-ALPHA is used in the Rat Tumor Necrosis Factor α ELISA Kit for measuring rat tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) in cell lysate and tissue lysate. This kit is specifically designed for research purposes and is not intended for use in diagnostic procedures.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) affects various cellular processes such as blood-brain barrier, inflammatory, thrombogenic, and vascular changes following brain damage. TNF-α expression is upregulated in various central nervous system disorders, including Alzheimer′s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson′s disease, meningococcal meningitis and HIV infection. Elevated expression of TNF-α in brain and blood in response to lipopolysaccharide might increase brain stem thrombosis and hemorrhage and stroke sensitivity/risk in hypertensive rats. Tumor necrosis factor-α activates polymorphonuclear leukocyte NADPH oxidase, thereby facilitates development of systemic oxidative stres (OS), inflammation and hypertension in rats.

Check Digit Verification of cas no

The CAS Registry Mumber 94948-61-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 9,4,9,4 and 8 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 94948-61:
(7*9)+(6*4)+(5*9)+(4*4)+(3*8)+(2*6)+(1*1)=185
185 % 10 = 5
So 94948-61-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
